Richard W. Tozer, 96 of Maroa, IL passed away 5:23 AM March 9, 2024 at his home in Maroa, IL.

Services will be 12:00, noon, Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, IL with Jan Dial officiating. Burial will follow at Texas Township Cemetery, Clinton, IL with Military Honors. Visitation will be 10 AM – 12 noon at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Macon County Humane Society.

Richard was born May 12, 1927 in Maroa, IL the son of Glen Francis and Cynthia M. (Niles) Tozer. He married Gwenievere E. Hartsock October 25, 1946 in Decatur, IL. She passed away January 26, 2015.

Survivors include his children, Lynda Kay (Pete) Alagna, Riverton, IL, and Richard G. “Greg” Tozer, Maroa, IL; grandchildren, Heather Obbereiter and Braden R. Tozer; great-granddaughter, Haley (Ricky) Smith; and great-great-grandchildren, Klayton Tygh and Karli Kruse. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Connie Hartsock, Mitch Hartsock, Cheryl Luallen and Mark Tozer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Tygh Eliss and Brother, Donald Eugene Tozer.

Richard served his country in the Navy. He was a retired Postmaster from the Maroa Post Office, Maroa, IL after 40 years of service. He also had been the Secretary – Treasurer for the Maroa Fire Department and a member of the Maroa Masonic Lodge.
