Ralph Everette Shallenberger, Jr.

Ralph Everette Shallenberger, Jr., 66 of Lexington, IL, passed away 12:46 PM January 24, 2024 at his home in Lexington, IL. He was born January 21, 1958 in Black River Falls, WI.

 

Memorial services will be 4 PM Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Randy Justus presiding. There will be an open house from 2 – 4 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL at a later date.

 

Memorials may be directed to JDRF (formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and the Fellowship of Christian Farmers International.

 

He is survived by his children: Amy (Adam) Wood of Columbus, OH, Kathryn (Ben) Justus of Orion, IL; grandchildren: Isaiah, Judah, Asher, Jeremiah, and Levi Wood all of Columbus, OH and Reed Justus of Orion, IL. He is also survived by two sisters, both of Clinton, as well many extended family members.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph E. Shallenberger Sr. and Yvonne (Prine) Shallenberger, grandson Jay Justus, and many other beloved family members.

 

Ralph was a 1976 graduate of Clinton High School. Throughout high school he was actively involved in Drama productions and the Thespian Club. He was a member of the football, baseball, and wrestling teams earning him a spot in the letterman’s club.

 

Ralph was a long-time member of East White Oak Bible Church where he was involved in numerous ministries and volunteer opportunities. He also spent many years volunteering with the Fellowship of Christian Farmers International, most often found feeding volunteers around the country working on disaster relief missions. Cooking was one of his passions. He had a talent for creativity in the kitchen and never met a pie he could not perfect. Ralph was a life-long fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Cincinnati Reds.
