Jeffrey L. Amenda 75, of Monticello, IL passed away 6:37 PM December 30, 2023 at Kirby Medical Center, Monticello, IL.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Maranatha Assembly of God, Decatur, IL with Pastor Doug Lowery officiating. Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM, Saturday at the church.  Burial will follow with Masonic Rites at North Fork Cemetery, Decatur, IL.  Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements.

Jeffrey was born February 2, 1948 in Decatur, IL to Marie Gaitros and later adopted by George and Margel (Wisley) Amenda. He married Bonita Martin October 2, 1981 in Clinton, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Bonita Amenda, Monticello, IL; and son, Kenneth (Heather) Amenda, Decatur, IL

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jeffrey retired after 30 years of service as a Police Officer for Monticello, IL.  He then retired from Homeland Security at Willard Airport after 10 years of service.  Jeffrey was an avid shooter and marksman.  He enjoyed Ham Radio, photography, and gardening. Jeffrey was a member of Masonic Lodge #58 AF & AM in Monticello, IL.  Most of all, Jeffrey enjoyed spending time and traveling with his family.
