Cynthia L. "Cyndie" Andrews

Cynthia L. “Cyndie” Andrews, 75 of Clinton, IL passed away 11:34 AM October 22, 2023 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, IL.

 

Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, October 26, 2023 at First Christian Church, Clinton, IL with Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, IL. A time for food and fellowship will be held following the burial in the First Christian Church Family Life Center to Celebrate Cyndie’s life.

 

Memorials may be directed to C.H. Moore Homestead and DeWitt County Museum.

 

Cyndie was born June 15, 1948 in Clinton, IL the daughter of Jack C. and Maralee (Craig) Armstrong. She married James Larry Andrews March 20, 1971 in Clinton, IL. He passed away November 28, 2017.

 

Survivors include her children, Leslie Andrews, Clinton, IL; Daniel (Keri) Andrews, Gibson City, IL; and Thomas Andrews, Carmichael, CA; her longtime companion Gary Holaway, Bloomington, IL; three grandchildren, Kaleb (Katie) Volker, Clinton, IL; Abbey (Colton) Nixon, Wapella, IL; and Jack Andrews, Gibson City, IL; and one great-granddaughter Lilah Nixon, Wapella, IL.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother Jack C. Armstrong II.

 

Cyndie worked at Country Companies for 15 years. She was also a long-time teacher’s aide and substitute teacher for the Clinton School District. She was the first woman to be the head coach of the Varsity Clinton Golf Team. In her free time, she loved to study genealogy and was an avid golfer. She attended University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and was a graduate of Illinois State University. Cyndie was a lifelong member of First Christian Church, Clinton, IL, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bloomington, IL, and the Clinton Country Club where she was the Women’s Golf Champion in 2000.
