Kenneth Orman Dyer

Kenneth Orman Dyer of Clinton, Illinois passed away July 30, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born February 10, 1944 in Clinton, IL to Orman Ray “Doc” Dyer and Edna (Bray) Dyer.

 

On May 16, 1987, he married Yvonne Woolf, now of Clinton, IL, she survives. Kenneth is also survived by Jennifer Benson (Ryan) of Clinton, IL; Chad Bray  (Bobbi) of Lincoln, IL; Melissa Hovis (Jimmy) of Kenney, IL, twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents “Doc” and Edna Dyer, his sister, Joyce Diane Whittington, and his son, Phillip Orman Dyer.

 

He was an active member of LifeBridges Church, serving as the Clerk/Treasurer for nine years until his death, and was also loved and known as “Grandpa Orman” to the students at the LifeBridges Home School. He also owned Dyer Chemicals in DeWitt, IL, and served as the Mayor of DeWitt, IL. He was employed at Baum Chevrolet for sixteen years in sales and was a Sherriff’s Deputy for DeWitt County. He retired from Rinker in Lebanon, IN. He loved Gardening, St. Louis Cardinals and camping. He loved God, his family, church, and never knew a stranger. He was over the moon with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

 

Celebration of Life will be 11 AM, Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Jonathan Taylor, Pastor Dana Taylor, and Rev. Greg Woolf officiating. Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.
