George Ray Harris, 83, of Clinton, IL passed away 4:50 PM, July 23, 2023 at Warner Hospital and Health Services, Clinton, IL.

Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 28, 2023 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Reverend Jeff DeLaughter officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton IL. Visitation will be from 10:00- 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.

George was born October 1, 1939 in Campbellsville, KY the son of Milburn and Ermin (Whitlock) Harris. He married Dorothy Alene Underwood November 23, 1957 in Campbellsville, KY. She passed away December 15, 2020.

Survivors include his children: Dennis (Lori) Harris, Clinton, IL; Tina (Randy) Turley, Clinton, IL; Tony (Cherie) Harris, Clinton, IL; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; siblings: Sebert Harris, Campbellsville, KY, Annette Sharp, Bowling Green, KY, Dick Harris, Campbellsville, KY; and his beloved cat, Baby.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richie Harris, and several siblings.

George worked for the City of Clinton for 25 years in the streets and alley department. He enjoyed construction projects; but most importantly he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
