Jean Carol Huisinga 79, of Cobden, IL passed away 10:40 P.M. July 13, 2023 at Integrity Healthcare, Cobden, IL.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday, July 17, 2023 at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, IL with David Patterson brother-in-law to speak. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with arrangements.

Jean was born January 3, 1944 in Monticello, IL the daughter of John and Hilma (Bowdre) Huisinga.

Survivors include her sisters, Bernice (Jerry) Bellman of Blue Grass, IA; Janet (Larry) Snodgrass of Clinton, IL; Joyce (David) Patterson of Clinton, IL and brother, John (Pat) Huisinga of Clinton, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Jerry Huisinga.

Jean was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many years. She loved reading the Bible and talking about it. She definitely believed in the resurrection and the scripture in Revelation 21:4 that says “He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Jean dearly loved her nieces and nephews and enjoyed playing with them when she was younger. She also enjoyed helping her Mom take care of them and baking for them.

We look forward to the time when we will see Jean again in the earthly paradise. Her mind and body will be restored to perfection, and she will be so happy and so will we to see her!
