Shirley D. Kirk, 76, of Farmer City, Illinois, passed away at 10:33 P.M. Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the McLean County Nursing Home, Normal, Illinois.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Victory Christian Center in Farmer City, Illinois. 

Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home of Farmer City, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Shirley was born on June 24, 1946, in Danville, Kentucky, a daughter of David and Laura Daugherty Russell. She married Kenneth Kirk on February 22, 1969. He passed away January 7, 2010.

She is survived by her children, Laurie (David) Cwiklowski of Fisher, Illinois, George (Tracy) Kirk of Ballwin, Missouri, Khristie Murphy of Farmer City, Illinois, and Kandice (Gary) Wellman of Bloomington, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Tara) Reddington; Chelsea Ferguson; Dean Kirk; Jessica (William) Harris; Damien Murphy; Kenny Murphy; and Kayelynn (Quentin) McBee; seven great-granddaughters; and brother, Steven (Venus) Russell of Champaign, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; granddaughter, Jordyne Wellman; parents; two brothers, Michael and Floyd Russell; and son-in-law, Loren Murphy.

Shirley was a retired security guard at the Clinton Power Plant.
