Betty Taylor-Gaultney

Betty Taylor-Gaultney 84 of Clinton, Illinois passed away 5:11 PM, March 2, 2023 at her family residence, Clinton, IL.

 

Services will be 11 AM, Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Ernie Harvey, Jr. and Allison Hitchings officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney, IL. Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM, Tuesday at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to Cancer Care Center of Decatur, IL.

 

Betty was born June 11, 1938 in Kenney, IL the daughter of Leroy S. “Roy” and Evelyn Fern (Dever) Morse. She married Robert Dean Taylor April 6, 1957 in Kenney, IL. He passed away July 14, 1992. She later married John William Gaultney April 18, 1996 in Clinton, IL. He passed away August 24, 2009.

 

Survivors include her children: David (Cheryle) Taylor, Clinton, IL; Marcia (John) Wise, Clinton, IL; and Jim (Cindy) Taylor, Clinton, IL; and Paul Aaron (Amy) Goddard, Hudson, IL who was like a son to Betty; 12 grandchildren:  Bobby (Rachel) Taylor, Katie (Adam) Akeman, Taylor Quinn (Nicole Harris), Angie (Brandon) Curtis, Clayton (Devin) Quinn, Travis Quinn, Heather Wise, Meghan (Tim) Baker, Emily Taylor, Kyle Taylor, Alicia Gaultney, and Johnathan Gaultney; 11 great-grandchildren:  Justin, Jadon, and Ivy Akeman; Jaxon, Asher and Nyah Taylor; Preston, Parker, and Avalyn Curtis; Blaise Baker, and Kearington Hardwick; and siblings, Dallas “Mike” Morse and Joan Morse.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brothers, Bob, Andy, Bill, and Mac Morse; sisters, Kate Bruce and Jean Langley; stepsons, Johnny Lynn Gaultney and Scott Gaultney; and special best friend, Richard Tuggle.

 

Betty was homemaker.  She loved, fed, and spoiled her grandchildren.  Betty also loved her precious dogs Sugar and Sam.  She enjoyed holidays with her family.  She was a member of First Christian Church, Clinton, IL and attended the First Christian Church Young at Heart Programs and went on trips with them.  Betty also enjoyed going to the Friendship Center and traveling with Joyce Mathias and the Kenney Group.  She was a member of the Clinton Rollaway Ramblers Square Dance Club.  Most of all Betty loved spending time with her family and friends.
