While in the army, his passion for photography, which he had developed in high school, continued as he worked on combat surveillance photographic equipment. After his time in the military, he began his career in computers. One of his bigger career accomplishments was designing the local area network for the city of Chicago.  He was also a certified home inspector and a handyman before his retirement, while they lived in Naperville.

Tom was a man of many talents. He and Nancy built their current home from the foundation up. His hobbies included woodworking, stained glass work, and photography but his interests are in just about anything and everything.

He was an entertainer, always having jokes to tell and able to tell great stories. He enjoyed puzzles and games; He and Nancy were a tough team to beat when it comes to Euchre!
