Jon Robert Whitrock, 79, of Clinton, IL passed away October 29, 2022 at John Warner Hospital, Clinton, IL.

Jon was born December 15, 1942 in Decatur, IL, the son of Ernest and Nell M (Griffith) Whitrock.

Jon was a security guard for Securitas and had also served as a DJ for WHOW. He was a member of the Baha’i Faith. Jon was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous achieving 30 plus years sobriety. He had authored a book concerning 12 Step Recovery and the Baha’i Faith.

During his leisure time, Jon was an avid stamp collector, loved reading and had been known to be a talented trumpet player.

Surviving are his siblings, Clinton Whitrock (Ellen) of Decatur, IL, Charlotte Kraft of Decatur, IL and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and uncle, Clifford Whitrock (Mary).

Graveside funeral service will be held 10 AM Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Graceland Cemetery.
