Dixie Lee (Cooley) LeRoy was born April 13, 1931 in Clinton, IL and left this life on July 6, 2022 in Shreveport, LA, at the age of 91.

Dixie was a homemaker and after her husband retired from the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad they moved from Park Forest, IL to Biloxi, MS. Due to her failing health and death of her husband, Dixie moved to Shreveport, LA to be closer to family. She resided at the Glen Retirement Home until her death. Dixie loved to make people laugh with her unusual sense of humor.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Ada and George Cooley; husband, Harry Daniel LeRoy; and son, Daniel LeRoy. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Steele (Tom) of Mokena, IL; son, Stephen LeRoy (Kay) of Shreveport, LA; four grandchildren, Rachel Steele, Emily Duracka (Brian) of Illinois, Kathryn Hoffman (Brad) and Daniel LeRoy of Louisiana; five great grandchildren (her “GG’s”), Allison, Brian, and Eric Duracka, Elizabeth “Ella” and Brock Hoffman.

The family is grateful to those who spent time with her in her declining years.

Dixie Lee Cooley LeRoy will be buried between her husband and son in Clinton, IL at Memorial Park Cemetery.
