Charlotte Marie Jackson 80 of Clinton, IL passed away 4:07 PM January 18, 2022 at Manor Court, Clinton, IL.

 

Graveside services will be 2 PM, Thursday January 27, 2022 at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL with Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with arrangements.

 

Memorials may be directed to Second Chance Pet Adoption, Clinton, IL, or Taylor Magill Restoration Project.

 

Marie was born November 24, 1941 in Clinton, IL the daughter of Ernest “Lefty” and Madeline (Chandler) Day. She married Larry D. Jackson June 19, 1958 in Clinton, IL. He passed away September 26, 2012.

 

Survivors include her sons, Jim Jackson and Jackie Ward, Clinton, IL; Gene Jackson, Clinton, IL, four grandchildren, Brittiany; Casie; Bryan; and Justin, five great-grandchildren, brothers, Don (Gloria) Day, Clinton, IL, and Steve (Carol) Day, Savanna, GA. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents Lefty and Madeline; the love of her life, Larry Jackson; sister, Mary Ann Armstrong; and granddaughter, Katie Ann Jackson.

 

Marie was the kitchen manager of the Taylor Magill Restaurant for over 20 years. During her time there, many of Clinton’s youth got to know the loving person Marie was. She later worked at Casey’s where she laughed about getting up to “Make the donuts”. For years, we have had people tell us they met our mom, and how much they loved her while working at Casey’s.

 

Marie never met a stranger. She loved to bake and cook.. When we were young, all the neighbor hood kids and friends came to mom’s house to eat. Many times, friends would just stop by to visit and grab a quick snack, which mom always said, “Help yourself to whatever you want”.

 

Marie enjoyed camping, fishing, and was a Chicago Cubs fan. Bust most of all she loved her family, which many know is a very large family.
