Edna Dyer

 Edna Genevie (Bray) Dyer, 96, of Clinton, IL passed away at 4:20 PM, October 2, 2021 at Warner Hospital and Health Services, Clinton, IL.

 

Services will be 11 AM, Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Aaron Stine officiating.  Burial will follow at DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt, IL.  Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to The Woodlawn Church of God or Life Bridges Church.

 

Edna was born July 8, 1925 in Wapella, IL the daughter of William Carl and Edna Margaret (Gregory) Bray.  She married Orman Ray “Doc” Dyer on May 21, 1942 in Bowling Green, MO.  He passed away April 14, 2009.

 

Survivors include her children:  Orman (Yvonne) Dyer, Clinton, IL; and Brad (Rachel) Dyer, Waynesville, IL; son-in-law, Art Whittington, Clinton, IL;  5 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Diane Whittington, one sister, Ruth Austin, and four brothers, James A. Bray, Carl Bray, Melvin Bray, and Roy Bray, and one grandson, Phillip Dyer.

 

Edna was a member of The Woodlawn Church of God and supporter of Life Bridges Church.  She farmed next  to her husband for many years, loved vegetable gardening and canning, watching the birds and squirrels; but the closest things to her heart was her family, praying for others, and serving God.
