Opal Marie Blue 94 of Clinton, Illinois passed away 12:18 PM September 30, 2021 at her family residence, Clinton, IL.

 

Services will be 3:30 PM, Monday, October 4, 2021 at the First Church of The Nazarene, Clinton, IL with Rev. Michael Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Visitation will be 2:30 – 3:30 PM, Monday at the church. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements.

Marie was born December 28, 1926 in Clinton, IL the daughter of William Raymond and Nancy Jane (Crum) Owens. She married Charles Rex Blue October 28, 1945 in Virden, IL. He passed away April 27, 1995.

 

Survivors include her son, Brian Davis Blue, Clinton, IL; 4 grandchildren:  Jimmy (Ashley) Blue, Adam (Heather) Blue, Justin Blue, and Andrea Shepard; and 5 great-grandchildren.

 

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, 3 Brothers, William R. Owens, Hubert F. Owens, and Donald Edwin Owens, and 1 sister, Maxine Lillian Maltby.

 

Marie was a faithful member of The First Church of The Nazarene, Clinton, IL.  She worked at The Dr. John Warner Hospital Cafeteria for over 20 years.  Marie lived on a farm most of her life where she worked along side her husband.
