Sally K. Waite, 81 of Bloomington, IL formerly of Farmer City, IL passed away 9:45 AM September 28, 2019, at her home in Bloomington, IL.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Clinton, IL with Rev. Fr. James Henning celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wapella, IL. Visitation will be 6 – 8 PM, Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at the church with Prayer Services at 5:30 PM. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. John’s College of Nursing, Springfield, IL or St. John’s Catholic Church.

 

Sally was born May 3, 1938, in Decatur, IL the daughter of Charles and Winifred (Clark) Yonikus. She married James “Jim” Waite Jan. 2, 1960, in Decatur, IL. He passed away on August 7, 2007.

 

Survivors include her children, Kevin (Edna) Waite, Champaign, IL; Sean (Lynn) Waite, Oswego, IL; Annie Waite, Bloomington, IL; and Matt Waite, Oswego, IL, 7 grandchildren, Lauren (Kevin) Wiatr; Allison (Fiancé Miguel Amesquita) Waite; Caitlyn Waite; Stephen Waite; Aiden Waite; Madisen Waite; and Jasmine Waite, 1 great-granddaughter, Adalynn Wiatr.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Katrina Waite, and 2 sisters, Sandi Yonikus and Marti Yonikus.

 

Sally was a very active member of the St. John’s Catholic Church and enjoyed singing and playing guitar at the church. She had spent the majority of her nursing career at the John Warner Hospital, Clinton, IL. She also enjoyed tennis.
