Rodney Eric Westray, 53, of Clinton, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL.

Rodney was born on May 9, 1966 in Clinton, IL to parents, John and Sheryl (Kraft) Westray. He graduated from Clinton Community High School in 1984 and remained a resident of Clinton his entire life.

Rodney was preceded in death by his father, John; mother, Sheryl; and brothers, Jeff and Billy.

He is survived by his brothers, Mark (Sonya) Westray of Colorado Springs, CO, David (Jean) Westray of Eureka, IL, and Brett Mills of Harvel, IL; sister, Terra (Chris) Daykin of Taylorville; daughter, Erica (Silas) Taylor of Kenney, IL; step-children, Ashley (Cody) Danison of Clinton, IL and Keith and Blade Rachal of FL; beloved step-mother, Phylis Westray of Taylorville, IL; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends who were like family.

Rodney was a manager at Clinton McDonald’s for many years and had been a security guard for Wackenhut Security in Bloomington. Anyone who knew Rodney knew that he had a love for life. Even through his death, he chose to give life to others by being a Gift of Hope donor. He had a passion for many things, including weather, sports, and anything from the 80s. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Cremation will be provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
