Benjamin Lee Nixon passed away at the age of 65 in his home on August 31, 2019.

The family will gather for a private memorial later this month.  Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL assisted the family with cremation rites.

Ben was born July 19, 1954 in Clinton, IL the son of J.. Sheldon and Margaret (Tuggle) Nixon.  He graduated from Clinton High School in 1972 and was an accomplished athlete.  He joined the United States Army and honorably served his Country.  Upon return from the service, Ben raised a family while working as a diesel mechanic.

He is survived by two adult sons, Paul and Damon Nixon; four brothers:  Larry (Jill) Nixon, Arlington, VA; Jim Nixon, Clinton, IL; Charles Douglas (Carolyn) Nixon, Mapleton, IL; William Frederick (Brenda) Nixon, Fishers, IN; two sisters:  Kathy (Denny) Rich, Clinton, IL; Marjorie (Steve) Parrott, Eugene, OR; sister-in-law Lisa Nixon, Paducah, KY; and three grandchildren in Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rodger David Nixon.
