Betty I Karr

 Betty I. Karr 92 of Clinton, IL passed away 7:03 PM July 14, 2019 at Manor Court, Clinton, IL.

 

Services will be 3 PM Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the Clinton United Methodist Church, with Pastor Darrell Howard and Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Long Point Cemetery, Wapella, IL. Visitation will be 1 – 3 PM Thursday at the church. The family requests casual attire. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL is in charge of arrangements.

 

Memorials may be directed to Med Surgery Floor at the Warner Hospital and Health Services.

 

Betty was born July 3, 1927 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Richard and Pearl (Johnson) Thayer. She married Marvin E. Karr June 22, 1948 in Wapella, IL. He passed away March 24, 2017.

 

Survivors include her daughters, Mary (Bill) Murphy, Wapella, IL, and Kathy (Steve Best) Buggar, Clinton, IL, 11 grandchildren, Jim (Kelly) Murphy; Carron (Mike) Hospelhorn; Kristi (Lance) Tynan; Tara (Dave) McNutt; Kimberly (Jeremy) Holmes; Mark Ryan Karr Murphy; Jay Karr; Barbara Karr; Jessica Hall; Michael Karr; Jeffery Karr and their families, 19 great-grandchildren.

 

Betty was preceded in death by her Parents, Twin Sons, Kenneth and Karry Karr, brother, Eugene Thayer, 3 sisters, Bonnie Campbell, Glenna Williams, and Martha Poston, 4 half-brothers, Ralph, Dale, Carl, and Bob Thayer.

 

Betty had worked as a beautician and waitress at Haycraft in Wapella, along with working at Benjamin Franklin, and Eureka Williams in Bloomington. She was a member of the Artist Alley and was active in the Wapella Methodist Church. She enjoyed music and traveling.
