David B. Ward

David B. Ward, 61, of Clinton, passed away 11:43 p.m. Thursday (June 27, 2019) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

 

A time to celebrate David's life will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at 2 Doors Down, Clinton. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with cremation rites.

 

Memorials may be directed to Vespasian Warner Library or Second Chance Pet Adoption.

David was born Oct. 19, 1957, in Clinton, the son of William “Bill” and Marcile Ann Johns Ward. He married Shelley Willoughby Feb. 17, 1979, the mother of their children, Lucas D. (Pam) Ward, Trinity, Fla., and Lindsey M. (John Williams) Ward, Clinton. He later married Janet L. Gregory April 24, 1993, in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. She resides in Clinton.

 

Also surviving are his five grandsons, Jeffrey, Dylan, Owen Ward; Logan Ward; and Toby Williams; siblings, Susan (Richard) Whitver, Chenoa; Joan (Elston E.) Mitchell, Bloomington; William L. (Darlene) Ward, Goose Creek, S.C.; Christopher (Tanya) Ward, Clinton; Mary Kay Ward, Clinton.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

 

David was the maintenance supervisor for the Vespasian Warner Library. Also, he was a talented carpenter who had worked for various contractors in the area. He was a proud member of the NRA, who enjoyed hunting, golfing, and just being in nature.

 

The family would like to express a special “thank you” to the Warner Hospital, Advocate BroMenn Medical Center and their staffs for the wonderful compassion and care David received during his time there.
