Joan Elaine Trenkle

Joan Elaine Trenkle, 91, of Le Roy, Illinois, passed away at 11:05 A.M. Monday, May 20, 2019, at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, Illinois.

 

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church, Le Roy, Illinois, with Pastor Eric Swanson officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City, Illinois. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at the church.

 

Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy, Illinois, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Le Roy, Illinois, Le Roy Emergency Ambulance Service, or the Le Roy Community Fire Protection District.

 

Mrs. Trenkle was born February 23, 1928, in Normal, Illinois, to Henry B. and Virginia M. Gibson Wells. She married James Charles Trenkle on September 26, 1945, in Olathe, Kansas. He passed away January 8, 1999.

 

She is survived by her two sons, Joe (Toni) Trenkle of Farmer City, Illinois, and John (Wanda) Trenkle of Le Roy, Illinois; three daughters, Sue (Ken) Satterfeal of Le Roy, Illinois, Mary Ruth (Steve) Brickey of Le Roy, Illinois, and Cindy (Dave Buss) Lee of Bloomington, Illinois; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Bill (Joyce) Wells of Farmer City, Illinois, and one sister, Mary Lou Fisher of Urbana, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Owen Trenkle; one daughter, Judy Lohmeyer; and one grandson, James W. Lohmeyer.

 

Joan was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Le Roy, Illinois. She enjoyed spending time with family; cook-outs at the lake; daily crossword puzzle; walking at the Replex; Wednesday cards; and watching the Chicago Cubs.

 

The family would like to thank the Kevin and Katherine Daugherty family, the Phil and Jennifer Harms family, and John and Diane Smith for the many acts of kindness over the years. Also, thanks to BroMenn ER and Cardiac Care Unit for their excellent and compassionate care.
