Donna M. Carter of Clinton, Illinois passed away peacefully at the good ol’ age of 71 at 11:47 PM, Friday, May 3, 2019, at the Warner Hospital and Health Services, Clinton, Il.

 

Services will be 11 AM, Thursday, May 9, 2019, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Il. with Rev. Richard Gray officiating. Burial will follow at DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt, Il. Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM, Thursday at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to the Donna M. Carter Memorial Fund.

 

Donna was born June 4, 1947, in Clinton, IL the second daughter of the late Raymond Otto and Bernice Faye (Nelson) Carter.

 

As told by stories, she managed to get into trouble but also got her way a lot.  She attended CHS, but eventually in the late ’60s started working for Charles Todd until its closing in 1996.

 

Today she leaves behind a son, Michael Carter; granddaughters Karamay Carter and Isabella Carter; a grandson, Richard Carter, and great-granddaughter, Paisley Brewer; brother, Roger Carter; sister, Vivian Crutcher; and sister-in-law, Bernadine Carter, along with a long list of nieces and nephews.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters:  Zelma Carter, Thelma Carter, and Sharon McGhee; brother, Russell Carter; and brothers-in-law Fred McGhee and Russell Crutcher; and one niece, Tracy Crutcher.

 

Donna lived a life loving her family and enjoyed playing cards.  We will always remember her for her spunk and joking; you never knew what she would say next.  She will be greatly missed by all.
