Irwin C. “Bud” Moreland Jr., 94, of Le Roy, Illinois, passed away at 8:49 P.M. Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, Illinois.

 

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, May 5, 2019, at the Le Roy Christian Church in Le Roy, Illinois, with David Strange officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, May 5, 2019, at the Le Roy Christian Church, Le Roy, Illinois.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Le Roy Christian Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.

 

Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy, Illinois, is in charge of arrangements.

 

Mr. Moreland was born December 16, 1924, in Farmer City, Illinois, to Irwin and Maude Haines Moreland Sr. He married Joyce Pillow on January 24, 1955, in Clinton, Illinois. She survives in Le Roy, Illinois.

 

Bud is also survived by his two sons, Steven (Vicki) Moreland of Le Roy, Illinois, and Kevin (Annette) Moreland of Maricopa, Arizona; one daughter, Cathy (David) Strange of Greenwood, Indiana; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jean McGill of Bakersfield, California.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Edward Moreland and one sister, Joan Andre.

Bud worked as a Head Lineman for GTE and retired in 1986.

 

He was a member of the Le Roy Christian Church. He loved hunting, fishing and telling stories.
