Wanda R. Dean

Wanda R. Dean, 94, of Bloomington, Illinois, formerly of Le Roy, Illinois, passed away at 3:25 A.M. Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Martin Health Center, Bloomington, Illinois. 

 

Her funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church of Le Roy with Pastor Dave Ashby officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Le Roy, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 29, 2019, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy, Illinois, and from 10.00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church of Le Roy. 

 

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Le Roy, Le Roy Emergency Ambulance Service, or The Baby Fold, Normal, Illinois.

 

Wanda was born April 19, 1924, in Le Roy, Illinois, a daughter of Leland & Bertha Oneal Razor. She married Donald Eugene Dean on December 21, 1947, in Bloomington, Illinois. He passed away May 16, 2009.

 

She is survived by her children, Dena S. (Keith) Swigart of Bloomington, Illinois; Richard L. (Barbara) Dean of Le Roy, Illinois; William Randall (Christine) Dean of Farmer City, Illinois; Robin L. (Mark) Beyer of Bloomington, Illinois; Donna M. (Bruce) Johnson of St. Augustine, Florida; 16 grandchildren, Kristen (Nate) Myers; Michael Brett (Cindy) Swigart; Kimberly (Dustin) Hicks; Kara (Luke) Kasten; Leland (Chelsea) Dean; Brittany (Jarrod) Carter; Abby (Jeff) Hendren; Derek Dean; Amanda Bryant; Brack Dean; Caleb (Tina) Dean; Justin (Megan) Beyer; Ashley Beyer; Jenelle (Carl) Beckstrom; Jason (Tina) Halm; John (Emily) Halm; 27 great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

 

Wanda was a 1941 graduate of Le Roy High School and a 1948 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan with a BS Degree. 

 

Wanda had been a stewardess for United Air Lines. She also was a retired teacher.

 

Wanda was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Le Roy; member of the Jr. Mothers Club, Empire Social Club, and the Family & Consumer Science Professionals Club. She served on the Baby Fold Board, Normal, and the District Conference Office of United Methodist Women.

 

Wanda was a mother and an avid farm wife for many years.
