Mark Dennis Cornthwaite, 62, of Clinton, IL, passed away at home, peacefully, with his family by his side, March 23, 2019.

 

Mark was born June 14, 1956 in Decatur, IL, the son of Dean and Jackie (Krekel) Cornthwaite.  He married Marcia Heinz, May 22, 1976.

 

Mark loved to minister Christ’s love to others.  His never ceasing compassion for Christ led him to build up and nurture the body of Christ.  Throughout his cancer, he said “Either way, healed now or in eternity, I win, and God gets all glory!”.  He enjoyed life, music, art, cruising, and sharing his passion in playing the ukulele.

 

Surviving are his wife Marcia; children, Ben, his wife, Carolynne, of Harrisburg, PA, and their daughters, Cecelia, Georgia and Rosalie, Amy Roehrig, her husband, Eric, of Heyworth, IL, and their sons, Nathaniel and Gabriel; sister, Lynette Puckett, her husband, Joe.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

A memorial service has been scheduled for 1:00 PM, Friday, April 12, 2019 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur, IL, with a short time to visit from 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be at Macon County Memorial Park.  A celebration of Mark’s life will be held from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, April 12, at the Vespasian Warner Public Library, Revere Ware Room, 310 N. Quincy Street, Clinton, IL.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to St. Jude’s for cancer research.
