Phyllis A. Chumbley, 93, of Monticello, passed away at 9:45 a.m., March 18, 2019 at the Bement Health Care Center.

 

Phyllis was born May 22, 1925 in Monticello, IL the daughter of Orville and Marjorie (Parrish) Welch. She married Lee Chumbley on May 21, 1942 in Hannibal, MO. He passed away January 11, 1983.

 

Phyllis is survived by her children, Robert (Paula) Chumbley, Pam Wesley, Buster (Susan) Chumbley, Aaron Chumbley, and Ellen Chumbley; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Dorothy Fryman and Elsie Brown, and brother Edwin (Bud) Welch.

 

Phyllis was a housewife and member of the Church of Christ in Monticello.

 

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello. A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Monticello Township Cemetery.
