Howard W. Campbell

Howard W. Campbell, 86, of Clinton, IL passed away at 5:17 AM, February 23, 2019 at Warner Hospital and Health Services, Clinton, IL.

 

Services with Military Honors will be 6:30 PM, Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Visitation will be 5 – 6:30 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.

Howard was born January 24, 1933 in Waynesville, IL the son of Charles and Mamie (Adcock) Campbell. He married Dorothy Lange September 30, 1956 in Clinton, IL. She passed away June 20, 2016.

 

Survivors include his children: Cristan (Scott) Philipp, Olathe, KS; Kyle (Sara) Campbell, Cleveland, TN; and Corina (Jim) Trail, Lane, IL; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Dora Neal, Clinton, IL; and 2 sisters-in-law: Rosemary Campbell, Clinton, IL and Phyllis Alwood, Clinton, IL; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandson, 4 brothers and 3 sisters and all of their spouses.

 

Howard was a Tool and Dye maker for over 30 years at Wagner Castings in Decatur, IL and then worked at Revere Copper and Brass, Inc., Clinton, IL until his retirement. Howard served in the Army Signal Corps from 1953 – 1955 and was a member of the AmVets. He enjoyed camping, music, and working in his workshop. Howard especially loved traveling with his family and attending the Farmer City Cowboy Church.
