Lois E. Hupp, 88, of Oreana, IL passed away February 18, 2019 at her home.

 

Lois was born on January 1, 1931, the daughter of Chester and Hazel (McConnell) Ferrill. Lois was a graduate of Argenta-Oreana High School in 1948. She married Robert E. Hupp on May 2, 1952 in Oreana, IL, and they were married more than 66 years.

 

Lois was a farmer’s wife at first, and then took a job at the Oreana Post Office in 1967. She was the postmaster at Oreana for 24 years, and was helpful to all that came in the door. Lois raised four boys, and attended countless little league baseball games, where she was a scorekeeper. Lois and Bob never missed one of the boy’s games that included Argenta-Oreana Bombers football, basketball, track, baseball games, and Monticello EI baseball games.

 

Lois was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and was also an avid Cubs fan and Illini fan.

They continued attending many grandchildren and great-grandchildren's games. Surviving are her sons, Larry E. Hupp of Decatur, Roger E. Hupp of Oreana, Alan R. Hupp (Eydie) of Oreana, daughter-in-law Lana J. Hupp of Oreana; grandchildren Pamela Daily (Matthew), Nathan Hupp (Jennifer), Stefanie Hupp, Whitney Hupp, Kaitlin Hupp, Jared Hupp, Cameron Hupp, Sabrina (Ferrill) Behrends; great-grandchildren, Brenton Daily, Tyler Daily, Tessa Daily, Brayden Daily, Landon Hupp, Ryker Hupp, Kai Hupp, Zoey Behrends, Wraven Hupp; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert E. Hupp; an infant son; son, Duane E. Hupp, and brothers, Richard, Robert, and Orville Ferrill.

 

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 PM Friday, February 22, 2019 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be at Friend’s Creek Cemetery.
