Vernadine Witt, 89, of Clinton, IL passed away 5:58 PM January 8, 2019 at Manor Court, Clinton, IL.

 

A time to celebrate Vernie’s life will be 1 – 3 Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the First Christian Church, Clinton, IL. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with cremation rites.

 

Memorials may be directed to the Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

 

Vernadine was born June 8, 1929 in Gary, IN the daughter of John Vernon and Edna Mae (Hand) Ward. She married Donald Foster. She later married Roger Witt September 16, 1957.

 

Survivors include her children, Carol Sue (Waylon) Burton; Donna (Robert) Turney; Nancy (Ricky) Jackson; Barbara (Tony) Scogin; Tammie (Jim) Inman; 11 grandchildren: Latonia Eagleson, Jodi Kauffman, Tina McDaniel, Chastity Coleman, Carrie Zbinden, Ashley Scogin, Chris Scogin, Brad Scogin, Heather Blue; 27 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; along with close family friend, Kathy M. Shelton.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Paula Marie Witt; granddaughter, Michelle Sears; and sister, Patty Wickenhauser.

 

Vernadine worked for Eureka Williams in Bloomington, IL as an inspector supervisor for 33 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Clinton, IL and member of the Ladies Eagles Lodge Auxiliary. She was a proud supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Veteran’s Association. She enjoyed traveling, animals, gardening with her son-in-law, Jim Inman, and most of all spending time with her family.
