Steve Davenport, 74, of Clinton, IL passed away 10:45 PM, January 6, 2019 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL.

 

A time to celebrate Steve’s life will be 10 AM Friday, January 11, 2019 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation or the Little Galilee Christian Assembly.

 

Steve was born June 24, 1944 in Clinton, IL the son of George and Freda (Perkins) Davenport. He married Carol Emery June 26, 1966 in Herrin, IL.

 

Survivors include his wife, Carol Davenport, Clinton, IL; children, Russell “Rusty” Davenport, Clinton, IL and Stefanie (Colin) Runyen, Clinton, IL; 2 grandsons, Grant Steven Davenport, Clinton, IL and Cade Emery Runyen, Clinton, IL; siblings, Ed Davenport, Clinton, IL and Charles Davenport, Clinton, IL.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Latham.

 

Steve was a retired high school teacher and farmer, who was very involved in the community. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Clinton Country Club, past Clinton School Board member, and past member of the Drainage District. He loved to hunt, fish, golf, and play cards.
