Peggy E. Reeter, 87, of Clinton, Il. passed away 2:51 PM January 1, 2019 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, Il.

 

Memorial services will be 11 AM Wednesday January 9, 2019 at the First Christian Church, Clinton, Il. with Greg Taylor and Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating. Private burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, Il. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Wednesday January 9, 2019 at the church. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL, is in charge of arrangements.

 

Memorials may be directed to First Christian Church, Clinton Il., Little Galilee Christian Assembly, or the DeWitt County Friendship Center.

 

Peggy was born July 25, 1931 in Whitehall, Il. the daughter of William Frances and Fefa Erma (Taylor) Dowdy. She married Charles M. Schmidt September 29, 1951 in St. Charles, MO. He passed away March 28, 1969. She later married Maurice “Mousey” F. Reeter May 26, 1973 in Clinton, Il. He passed away April 21, 2005.

 

Survivors include her children, Randy (Sue) Reeter, Mt. Pulaski and their children Mark, Laura and Sarah; Anita Schmidt , Clinton, IL and her children Jeremy, Jennifer, and Bill; Bill Reeter, Florida, and his son Bill; along with 11 Great Grandchildren. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Rhonda Hammer, 2 brothers, Lloyd Dean and Junior, and 2 sisters, Elnor and Betty.

 

Peggy served for 59 years at the First Christian Church. She tutored and volunteered at local grade schools, Faith in Action, and served on the board of the DeWitt County Friendship Center. She enjoyed gardening, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
