Richard Dale Workman

Richard Dale Workman, 84, of Farmer City, Illinois, passed away at 3:35 P.M. Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the Farmer City Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Farmer City, Illinois.

 

His graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 4, 2019, at Greenleaf Cemetery, Farmer City, Illinois, with Deacon Scott Whitehouse officiating. Military rites will be accorded.

 

Arrangements are entrusted with Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, Illinois.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Joe Williams American Legion Post 55, Farmer City, Illinois, or to the Moose Lodge 745, Bloomington, Illinois.

 

Mr. Workman was born January 8, 1934, in Farmer City, Illinois, to Frederick B. and Pauline L. Zettler Workman. He married Florence E. Hardesty on August 31, 1963, in Bloomington, Illinois. She survives in Farmer City, Illinois.

 

He is also survived by his three sons, Richard “Rick” (Jill) Hardesty of Farmer City, Illinois, Joseph (Jo) Workman of Champaign, Illinois, and Michael Workman of Farmer City, Illinois; two daughters, Mary (John) Strum of Farmer City, Illinois, and Marguerite “Marge” (Ron) Roeske of Bloomington, Illinois; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.

 

Richard was an United States Air Force Veteran. He was an Airman 2nd Class and served as a Police Officer in the 388th Air Police Squadron from 1954 to 1957.

 

He was a member of the Joe Williams American Legion Post 55, Farmer City, Illinois, and the Moose Lodge 745, Bloomington, Illinois.
