Audrene Alferna Lee Hancock, 97, of Heyworth, passed away the morning of Nov. 21, 2018, at Liberty Village, Clinton.

 

A celebration of life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 15 at the United Church of Heyworth. All family and friends are welcome. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.

 

Audrene was born April 16, 1921, to Leonard and Irna Ploenes Lee. She married Claud Hancock in 1940 in St. Charles, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1987.

 

She was the proud mother of four boys, Kenneth (Vicki) Hancock, Tom (Jayne) Hancock, Don (Diana) Hancock and Rick Hancock. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and one brother.

 

Audrene retired from the U.S. Post Office in Heyworth after over 25 years of service. She enjoyed playing softball as a youth and watching all of the athletic events of her family.

 

Audrene was a wonderful and loving person and will be missed by all who knew her.
