Maribel Rees, 98, of LeRoy, passed away at 9:42 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 24, 2018) at OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

 

Memorial donations may be made to LeRoy Emergency Ambulance Service. Burial will be private in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy.

 

Maribel was born Oct. 20, 1920, in LeRoy, a daughter of William T. and Effie Violet Stewart Huddlestone. She married Milton Junior Rees Oct. 31, 1947, in LeRoy. He passed away Feb. 23, 1993.

 

Surviving are one son, William E. (Denise) Rees, Fort Myers, Fla.; granddaughter, Jennifer Rees, Tampa, Fla.; nephew, James Huddlestone, Tampa, Fla.

 

She was preceded in death by one son, David Milton Rees, and brother, Cameron DeLoss Huddlestone.

 

Maribel worked at all the restaurants uptown LeRoy during the ’50s and ’60s. She then cleaned houses in and around the LeRoy area. For 30 years she played violin and the clarinet for many different bands and orchestras.
