Donald E. Judd, 83, of Farmer City, passed away at 9:02 A.M. Saturday, November 24, 2018, at his residence. 

 

His service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City with Bob Beckman officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City with Military Rites Accorded. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at the funeral home. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fred G. O’Malley V.F.W. Post 6190, Farmer City or to Sarah Judd.

 

Donald was born December 9, 1934, at Farmer City, Illinois, a son of Ernest N. & Sarah E. Howell Judd. He married Mary E. Moore on June 13, 1959, in Clinton. She passed away April 29, 1998.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Sarah F. Judd of Farmer City; grandchildren, Brittany (David) Johnson, Brandon (Cassie) Miles, Dustin Judd, Timothy Spoor; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Emma, Locke; special friend, Jorene Meier of Farmer City. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Herk Judd and a sister, Irene Belmar.

 

Donald was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed painter. Donald was a member of the First Christian Church, Farmer City; Charter Member of Fred G. O’Malley V.F.W. Post 6190, Farmer City; Life Member of Joe Williams American Legion Post 55, Farmer City; Past Chief of Police, Farmer City; Past President Farmer City Little League; member of the Farmer City American Legion and V.F.W. Color Guards; five-time Post Commander of Fred G. O’Malley V.F.W. Post 6190, Farmer City; Past V.F.W. 11th District Commander; Past State V.F.W. Officer of the day; V.F.W. man of the year; Past President of the Farmer City Little League Association; 1969 Grand Marshall of the Little League Parade; Ford Company pass, punt and kick director; member of Farmer City-Mansfield Blue Devils “chain gang” football for 25 years; avid fan of the Farmer City-Mansfield High School field hockey, football and track teams; Coached Little League baseball, umpired Little League and Pony League baseball for many years; coached softball slow pitch for his son one year.
