Rose Anne Fox Craig

Rose Anne Fox Craig, 74, of Waynesville, passed away Thursday (Nov. 15, 2018) at her home.

 

She was born Nov. 29, 1943, in Francesville, Ind., the daughter of Louis and Mary Margaret Noonan Fox. On Aug. 12, 1967, she married the love of her life, Russel D. Craig. He proceeded her in death Feb. 12, 2016. They had two daughters.

 

Rose Anne touched many lives through her work in the McLean-Waynesville Grade School. Students continued to tell her the impact she had on them and favorite stories they remembered about things she did for them. She considered all of the children in that school as "her own" and was always there with a Band-Aid, an ear to listen or a quick hug.

 

Rose Anne was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Atlanta, as well as the Waynesville American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed being around friends and family and could always be counted on to bring a smile to the faces of those she cared about.

 

She is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Greg) Kleen, El Paso; and Beth Craig, Waynesville; a grandson, Nolan Yochum; two sisters, Mary Lou (Sammy Smith) Wilkins, McLean; and Cathy (Gene) Cisco, Waynesville; two brothers, Joe (Sally) Fox, Florida; and John (Susan) Fox, Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

 

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta.

 

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Atlanta. The Rev. Jeffrey G Laible will officiate.

 

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Waynesville.

 

Memorials may be made to the Waynesville Fire and Rescue or the Waynesville American Legion.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home, Atlanta.
