Eugene Pointer

Eugene Pointer, 86, of Farmer City, Illinois, passed away at 7:30 P.M., Thursday, November 8, 2018, at his residence.

 

His funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, Illinois, with Rev. Charliam Renner officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City, Illinois, with military rites accorded. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

 

Eugene was born August 10, 1932, in Farmer City, Illinois, a son of Delbert & Edna Brown Pointer.

He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Pointer of Farmer City and brother, Phillip (Mary) Pointer of Rantoul. Also surviving are four nieces and two nephews. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Charlotte West and brother, Delbert Dean Pointer.

 

Eugene was a mechanic at Pointer’s Garage in Farmer City for several years and a school bus driver for the Blue Ridge School District for several years. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Eugene was a member of the Woodlawn Country Club in Farmer City. He was known for his bicycle riding in DeWitt County.
