Barbara Lou Streich, 74, of Maroa, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

 

Barb was born December 8, 1943 in Williamsville, Illinois, the daughter of Chester and Mary (Boyd) Wiles. She worked as a hostess in the restaurant and at the cosmetic counter at Carson Pirie Scott and owned and operated the Merchant Street Boutique. Barb was a member of the Maroa Christian Church and enjoyed flowers, country dancing, and traveling. She married Glen J. Streich April 30, 1961. They shared over fifty-seven years together.

 

Barbara leaves behind her husband Glen, daughter Suzy (Jim) Powell, grandchildren Brandon Powell, Bradley Powell, and Carmyn Randall Streich,

 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jimmy and Dickie Wiles, and son Robert Streich.

 

Services to celebrate Barb’s life will be 10:00 AM Monday, November 12, 2018 in the Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maroa Township Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
