Michael J. Maher 75 of Clinton, Il. passed away 2:55 PM October 31, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Il.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM, Monday, November 5, 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Clinton, IL with Rev. Fr. James Henning celebrant. Burial will follow at Texas Township Cemetery, Clinton, IL with Military Honors. Visitation will be 3 – 5 PM, Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL.

 

Memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society.

 

Michael was born July 5, 1943 in St. Louis, MO the son of John G. and Margaret (Milligan) Maher.

 

Survivors include his children: Troy (Terrie) Swan, Astoria, IL; Monty (Sherrie) McCombs, Lewistown, IL; Kelly (Michael) Erke, Danville, IL; Martin Maher, Jefferson City, MO; and Maggie (Casey) Holland, Clinton, IL; 10 grandchildren: Amy, Christopher, Marissa, Chase, Chelsey, Casey, Molly, Bridget, Raegan, and Harper; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters: Patricia Hemmersmeir, St. Louis, MO; Joan (Jim) Scott, St. Louis, MO; Kathleen (Vito) Adamos, St. Louis, MO.

 

Michael was preceded in death by his Parents, Step-Mother, and 1 Sister.

 

Michael served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Ameren Illinois Power Co. for 36 yrs. retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Elks Lodge Clinton, Il. and Osage Beach, MO
