Dorothy M. Laatsch

Dorothy M. Laatsch, 93, passed away on October 26, 2018 at 5:30 a.m. at St. John's Hospital.


She was born on July 31, 1925 in Mt. Pulaski, IL; daughter of Theodore and Mildred (Harnish) Wolf. She married Richard "Corky” Laatsch on April 8, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1982.

 

She is survived by her son: Jeff (Connie) Laatsch and one grandson: Nathan (Stacey) Laatsch. Also, surviving are two great-granddaughters: Evelyn and Mina Laatsch; one sister: Gertie Leesman of Lincoln, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother: Raymond Wolf, and two sisters: Esther Maxheimer and Ella Williams.

 

Dorothy was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mt. Pulaski.

 

She had a full life and many great friends who loved her dearly. She farmed with her husband and worked part-time at Stahl’s Furniture. She was a very social person, who loved being with her family and friends. She liked to travel and would do so at the drop of a hat. She was a member of the Mt. Pulaski Legion Auxiliary and was a volunteer with the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

 

Services for Dorothy will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski, IL with Rev. Jonathan Buescher officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service (10:00-11:00 a.m.). Burial at Steenbergen Cemetery will follow the service.

 

Memorials may be made in Dorothy’s name to Zion Lutheran Church or School, or the American Legion Auxiliary in Mt. Pulaski.
