Dorothy E. Morris Hausmann

Dorothy E. Morris Hausmann, 83, of Monticello passed away at 3:35 p.m. Friday (Oct. 19, 2018) at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.

 

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at Monticello Christian Church, 1699 N. State St., Monticello. The Rev. Steve Ingram will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Ivesdale. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services Wednesday at the church.

 

Memorial contributions can be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home, Halcyon Unit, Monticello.

 

Dorothy was born Jan. 29, 1935, in Arthur, a daughter of Charles W. and Mary Williams Dean. She married John “Chick” Morris and later married Charles Hausmann.

 

Surviving children include Michael (Joy) Morris of Monticello, Richard Morris of Franklin, Tenn., Connie (Dave) Thompson of Monticello and Kathryn (Pat) Weber of Monticello. Surviving grandchildren are Paul (Kali) Loggins, Anjanette Loggins, Brooke (Rory) Wright, Megan (Devin) Shelton, Paul Thompson, Tyler Weber and Justin Weber, as well as 10 great-grandchildren.

 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and a brother, Donald Dean.

 

Dorothy had a huge heart and served the hurting and the imprisoned through hospice and Jesus Is The Way Prison Ministry. Her time at the Piatt County Nursing Home was spent as a prayer warrior, and she spread much laughter and joy to all her fellow residents and staff. Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life!
