Rev. Guy W. Keysear

Rev. Guy W. Keysear, 69, of Farmer City, Illinois, passed away at 11:28 A.M. Friday, October 19, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.

 

His funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the Weldon United Methodist Church with Rev. C. Don Ferrill and Pastor Steve Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City, Illinois. Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the Weldon United Methodist Church. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Farmer City United Methodist Church, Weldon United Methodist Church, Preachers’ Aid Society, or the Farmer City Rehabilitation & Health Care Activity Fund. 

 

Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, Illinois, is in charge of arrangements.

 

Rev. Guy Keysear was born March 27, 1949, in Urbana, Illinois, a son of Charles R. & Guyneth J. Edwards Keysear.

 

He is survived by his sister, Virginia (Roger) Barlow of Farmer City; three nephews, Kevin Barlow, Ken Barlow and Tim Keysear; one niece, Tabitha Keysear; special friend, Sara Hiser. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rick Keysear.

 

Rev. Keysear was a graduate of the first graduation class of Parkland College, Champaign, Illinois. He received a BS Degree in Education from Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois. Rev. Keysear graduated in 1985, from the Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, Illinois. He taught Special Education at Watseka, Pontiac, and Le Roy. Rev. Keysear served as a United Methodist Church Minister at Cowden, Ogden, Chatsworth, Saybrook, and several other churches.

 

He was a member of the Farmer City United Methodist Church and a Pastoral member of the Weldon United Methodist Church.

 

Rev. Keysear spent a lot of time at the Farmer City Rehabilitation & Health Care as a volunteer and minister.
