Robert Cook

Robert Dale Cook, 90 passed away on October 13, 2018, at his home in Loxley AL.

 

Bob was born on February 28, 1928, in Argenta, IL the son of Ivan and Faye (Dodd) Cook. He married Norma LeHew on May 28, 1950, she preceded him in death. He married June Myrick on March 22, 1975, in Okeechobee FL.

 

Bob was a Navy veteran of WW II and worked as a painting contractor. He was very active in his hometown, Argenta as a member of the Lions Club, Civic Club, a volunteer and past chief of the AOFD and a 32nd Degree Mason. After retiring, he and June moved to Okeechobee, FL where they managed warehouses and he pursued his favorite pastime, fishing.

 

Bob and his wife lived the past few years in the loving home of their granddaughter& grandson-in-law, Christine and Tim Willingham and enjoyed time with his great-grandchildren, Kevin (Ali) Willingham, Michelle (Brandon) Eubanks and his buddy, Jonathan, who he loved to share time and stories.

 

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife: June Cook of Loxley, AL, children: Tara (John) Fornear of Argenta, Gary Myrick of West Palm Beach, FL, Patricia Myrick of Okeechobee, FL and Doug (Marlene) Myrick of Rochester, NY; Argenta grandchildren: Audra (Steve) Heckwine, Adam (Jill) Fornear, Erin Fornear and Morgan Fornear; great-grandchildren: Tanner Kaufman, Braden and Cooper Heckwine, Cayden and Harper Cheatham and Beatrix and Piper Fornear. A total of eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who he kept track of amazing details about. 

 

Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Calvert Funeral home in Argenta with graveside services at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 19th at Friends Creek Cemetery with Bob Baker officiating.

 

Memorials may be directed to the Argenta-Oreana Fire Department. 

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma, his son, Steven Cook, stepsons, David Myrick and Frank Myrick, Grandson Danny Myrick and his sister Mildred Grider.
