Curtis L. Marcum, 86 of Weldon, IL passed away 11:17 A.M., September 24, 2018 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, IL.

 

Services will be 3 PM Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon, IL with military honors. Visitation will be 2 – 3 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to Curtis L. Marcum Memorial Fund.

 

Curtis was born May 27, 1932 in Weldon, IL the son of Grace (Goken) Marcum. He married Betty F. Perkins August 2, 1953 in Bangor, ME.

 

Survivors include his wife, Betty F. Marcum, Weldon, IL; children, Tim B. Marcum, Weldon, IL; Michael Marcum, Aurora, IL; 3 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

 

 He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son, Jeffrey.

 

Curtis was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and later spent his career as a civilian employee at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, IL. He was also a member of the DeLand Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M, Bloomington Consistory, and Springfield Ansar Shrine. Curtis previously served as Chairman of the Dewitt County Housing Authority Board, as well as past Chairman of the Weldon Fire Protection board, overseeing the construction of the new firehouse. Curtis was a talented mechanic who enjoyed motorcycles.
