James C. McIntosh

James C. McIntosh, 70, of Monticello, passed away at 5:55 a.m., September 21, 2018 at his residence.
 
Jim was born March 30, 1948 in Peoria, IL the son of Charles L. and Margaret (Alexander) McIntosh. He married Margaret Ann Meece on November 21, 1970 in Milwaukee, WI.
 
Jim is survived by his wife of 47 ¾ years, Ann McIntosh of Monticello; children, Kimberly (Rusty) Hislope of Monticello, Brian (Melissa) McIntosh of Monticello, Katherine (Paul) Endris of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Logan Hislope, Natalie McIntosh, Camden McIntosh, August Endris, Margot Endris; and brother John (Diane) McIntosh of Monticello. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles William McIntosh, and sisters Rebecca Keith and Julia Brown.
 
Jim was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of the Monticello Masonic Lodge #58 AF&AM and the ANSAR Shrine. Jim was involved with in Boy Scouts since his childhood and became an Eagle Scout in 1966. Jim served as Assistant Scout Master in 1984 for Troop #122 and became Head Scout Master in 1994 until the troop dissolved in 2008. Jim received a District Award of Merit in 1994 and the Boy Scouts Silver Beaver Award in 1998. Jim also won many lights shows in Monticello and moved to the animated musical light show 6 years ago on the corner of Marion and Route 105 with all donations going to Cancer and Alzheimer’s research.
 
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Masonic Rites at 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Oman officiating. Interment will be held in Monticello Township Cemetery.
 
Memorial donations may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation (Brain Cancer) or the Boy Scouts Prairieland Counsel.
