Ronald P. Munster, 80, of Le Roy, Illinois, passed away at 5:38 P.M., Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Le Roy Manor, Le Roy, Illinois.

 

His funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 10, 2018, at the Le Roy Christian Church with Jeff Mayfield officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Le Roy, Illinois. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the Le Roy Christian Church, and from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 10, 2018, at the church. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Le Roy, Illinois, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Mr. Munster was born August 25, 1938, in Monticello, Illinois, to Harry P. and Arladene D. Gilmore Munster. He married Rita Kay Mitchell on February 12, 1961, in Le Roy, Illinois. She passed away December 21, 2010.

 

He is survived by his two sons, Ricky A. (Pamela) Munster of Le Roy, Illinois, and Robert A. (Melanie) Munster of Lowell, Indiana; one daughter, Roni Sue Munster of Le Roy, Illinois; four grandchildren, Jennifer Misch, Mallory (Thomas Bunch) Munster, Lauren (Kaden) Moore, and Cody Munster; two great-grandchildren, Jaxon Misch and Harper Moore; two brothers, J. Wayne Munster and Richard (Patti) Munster all of Le Roy, Illinois; and two sisters, Betty (David) Habben of Erie, Illinois, and Barbara Munster of Lincoln, Illinois.

 

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Elmo and John Munster, and a brother-in-law, Bill Mitchell.

 

He was a member of the Le Roy Christian Church. Ron was very active in the Le Roy community including the Le Roy Emergency Ambulance Service, the Le Roy Fire Department, Le Roy FFA, and Le Roy school functions.
