William Michael “Tadpole” Brooks, 31, of Heyworth, passed away Thursday (Aug. 23, 2018) at OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

 

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Heyworth. His funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Memorial donations may be made to Shriner's Hospital, Chicago, or AT Children's Project, 5300 W. Hillsboro Blvd., Suite 105, Coconut Creek, FL 33073.

 

Michael was born Oct. 8, 1986, to James Michael and Peggy Corum Brooks. They survive.

 

Also surviving are one sister, Erica Brooks, Missouri; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins

 

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

 

Michael was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He also loved to watch NASCAR. His passion was construction. He would routinely watch construction work being done, whether it was houses being built or holes being dug.

 

The family has asked for casual wear for both visitation and funeral.

 

Michael leaves us all with his words of wisdom. “Every day is a good day.”
