Charlie Moxley

Charlie Moxley, 75, of Mansfield, Illinois, passed away at 10:44 P.M., Monday, August 20, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.
 
His funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Mansfield, Illinois, with Pastor Danny McCubbins officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery, with military rites accorded. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Friday, August 24, 2018, at the funeral home.
 
Charlie was born on November 2, 1942, in Breckinridge County, Kentucky, a son of Mineous and Sylvania Wells Moxley. He married Mary H. Hardwick on September 14, 1963, in Bement, Illinois. She survives in Mansfield, Illinois.
 
He is also survived by four sons, Charles H. (Mary K.) Moxley of Mansfield, Illinois, Mineous F. (Sabrina) Moxley of Tacoma, Washington, Eddie (Anita) Moxley of Rockmart, Georgia, and Kirby Moxley of Mansfield, Illinois; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Martha (Bob) Gleason of Salem, Illinois.
 
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Moxley, two brothers and two sisters.
 
Charlie retired in 1997, from the University of Illinois, where he worked as a mechanic at the South Garage. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Charlie was a member of the Joe Williams American Legion Post 55, Farmer City, Illinois.
