Wilbur Dile 82 of Clinton, IL passed away 8:09 AM July 11, 2018 at Palm Terrace Mattoon, IL.

 

Services will be 2 PM, Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Kevin & Sherry Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Visitation will be 1 - 2 PM, Saturday at the funeral home

 

Memorials may be directed to Guardians of the Children.

 

Wilbur was born May 9, 1936 in Kentucky the son of German and Carrie Dile. He married Lorretta Edward in 1958. He later married Mary F. (Burge) Cox May 18, 1973. She passed away August 13, 2017.

 

Survivors include his children:  Cheryl Dile, Darrell Dile, Toby Dile, Kym Roach, Kristi (Danny) Johnson, all of Indianapolis, IN, and Michael (Janet) Dile, Saybrook, IL; step-children, Kimberly (Richie) Cox Thomas and Dereck Wayne Cox, Clinton, IL; David (Sandra) Cox, Erin, TN; 8

grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.

 

Wilbur was a talented carpenter and built several houses.  He was an avid Cubs fan.  Wilbur was a loving grandfather.
