Larry E. Welton 81 of Clinton, Illinois passed away 3:20 P.M. July 8, 2018 at his residence, Clinton, Il. 

 

Services will be 10 AM, Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Mausoleum Park Cemetery, Clinton, IL. Visitation will be 5 – 7 PM, Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the funeral home.

 

Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church, Clinton, IL or the American Cancer Society.

 

Larry was born October 21, 1936 in Farmer City, IL the son of Percy and Ethel (Bates) Welton. He married Doris M. Shaw February 11, 1956 in Clinton, Il. She passed away May 12, 2015. 

 

Survivors include his children, Rick E. (Karen) Welton, Decatur, Il.; Rustin E. (Susan) Welton, Summerfield, N.C.; grandchildren: Isaac and Mattie (Welton) Canaday, Decatur, IL; Craig and Molly (Welton) Mathews, Avon, IN; Megan Welton, Decatur, IL; Grant Welton, Greensboro, NC; Grayson Welton, Greensboro, NC; Cameron Winburn, Fayetteville, NC; Allison Winburn, Summerfield, NC; great-grandchildren: Brooks, Eleanor, and Rowan Canaday, and Camille Welton; brothers: Ron (Madalyn) Welton, Fort Myers, FL; and Ken (Linda) Welton, Peoria, IL; brother-in-law, Dick Stansbery, Lakeview, AR.

 

He was preceded in death by his son, Robb E. Welton in 1985, and his sister, Linda Stansbery.

 

Larry was a State Farm Insurance Agent for 56 years in April 2018. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the many caregivers and friends who came by, especially Wilma, Susan and Dawn.
